Vandaag is het de vierde zondag van Pasen, zondag Jubilate. Deze zondag is vernoemd naar het eerste woord van het keervers (antifoon) van de Psalm 66 die op deze zondag gezongen wordt. Dat betekent: “Jubelt, juicht” en is ontleend aan het eerste vers van Psalm 66: “Jubilate Deo omnis terra, psalmum dicite nomini eius date gloriam laudi eius” – Juich de Heer Gij ganse aarde, psalmzing de heerlijkheid van Zijn naam en geef Hem eer en lof (Psalm 66:1).
Sinds de dag dat Jezus Christus de Redder is opgewekt uit de dood moet de aarde daarover jubelen. Jubilate is de naam die in de Katholieke Kerk wordt gegeven aan deze zondag in de liturgie. De vreugde van Pasen begint echt door te dringen. Zo worden wij erop gewezen wat de opstanding van Jezus de Zoon van God teweeg heeft gebracht in mensenlevens.

In deze dagen van het gedenken van 75 jaar bevrijding is er het meeleven met allen in wier leven deze dagen verdriet en gemis oproepen. Voelen we daarnaast grote dankbaarheid voor wat mensen met hun eigen leven voor de vrijheid van anderen hebben willen geven. Woorden van Dietrich Bonhoeffer:

Wat is vrijheid in deze “gebonden” tijd. Vrijheid vieren zonder elkaar met deze vrijheid te confronteren door overheidsmaatregelen.
Vrijheid neemt niemand ons af, dat zit in ons. Zoals Bonhoeffer zei: “niet blijven hangen in dromen, maar onbevreesd de werkelijkheid tegemoet te treden”. Die werkelijkheid noemen we vrijheid die Bonhoeffer niet mee mocht maken maar we moeten geduld hebben daarvan gebruik te mogen maken. Onze droom wordt werkelijkheid wanneer we weer samen de kerkdienst mee te mogen maken.
